On The Come Up

Kentucky's super freshman Demarcus Cousins is having a tremendous year. Sadly, he is overlooked because he plays on the same team as fellow phenom, John Wall. At the beginning of the season, nbadraft.net had Cousins in the 17-20th pick range of this upcoming NBA Draft, now he's number 7 and I don't see him declining at anytime this year. Watching from a distance, it's easy to say John Wall is the MVP of the Wildcats but I think it's Cousins. Watching Kentucky games this season, I have noticed when Wall goes on a cold streak and offense isn't flowing for the team, Cousins keeps them in games; He is a monster on the glass and gets the team extra possessions repeatedly. In only 21 minutes a game, Cousins is averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. He's also efficient, shooting 54% from the field. If he plays at this level or higher for the remainder of the season and in the tournament, Cousins should be a top 5 or 6 pick because any team could benefit from a big body and a sure rebounder every night.
