Broom Anyone?
Last night the Celtics took a 2-0 series lead against the Magic, 95-92. I predicted the series would go Boston 4-2, but it looks as if Orlando may not even pull a win out in this series. Aside from Charlotte, Boston plays the best D on Dwight Howard; They play him 1 on 1 with multiple defenders(Perkins, Wallace and Davis) and cover their shooters. And with Howard's limited post moves Orlando is sure to struggle. Losing 2 games at home was a huge blow, and with the C's having the momentum, I don't see Orlando getting 1 win. This series makes me wonder why Orlando let Hedo go for Vince Carter. Unlike VC, Turkoglu controlled the Magic's tempo and was a proven closer. What is VC?

Washington Bound
Last night, as everyone should know, the Washington Wizards won the Draft Lottery and the #1 pick in next month's draft. The consensus #1 pick has been John Wall since last summer so one would assume he'll be going to Washington. The Wiz still have Gilbert Arenas on the roster so it'll be interesting to see how they handle this pick. It seems that it would make sense to trade Arenas for a few young players so a new era can begin in the nation's capitol.

Wayne's Last Video Before Jail
Even though I'm not much of a fan anymore, I figure it's only right to post this...Lil Wayne's goodbye to the fans before serving 8-10 months in jail.
Must See
This weekend Wolfman hits theaters. I don't know much about this movie other than it being about a werewolf but that's enough info for me. The graphics don't look over exaggerated which is great. Another reason I wanna see the movie is that it fills the void of True Blood temporarily while I wait for season 3 to air because a werewolf will be on the next season. At worst, I can compare the two werewolves if the movie is bad. Hopefully I can get out to a theater next weekend to catch it because this weekend is All Star and Valentine's Day weekend.
Great News!
A couple days ago I posted saying that the copper dopes were postponed by Nike, which was true but today it was announced that the shoes are back on schedule for their February 13th release(this Saturday). I was hoping Nike was joking and it turned out that they were. I haven't heard why they postponed then un-postponed the shoe but..WHO CARES? The good news is that they will be in stores Saturday and I will be there Saturday morning. With the blizzards Baltimore has been getting, don't be surprised if a few accidents are caused by these shoes come Saturday.

On The Come Up
Kentucky's super freshman Demarcus Cousins is having a tremendous year. Sadly, he is overlooked because he plays on the same team as fellow phenom, John Wall. At the beginning of the season, nbadraft.net had Cousins in the 17-20th pick range of this upcoming NBA Draft, now he's number 7 and I don't see him declining at anytime this year. Watching from a distance, it's easy to say John Wall is the MVP of the Wildcats but I think it's Cousins. Watching Kentucky games this season, I have noticed when Wall goes on a cold streak and offense isn't flowing for the team, Cousins keeps them in games; He is a monster on the glass and gets the team extra possessions repeatedly. In only 21 minutes a game, Cousins is averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. He's also efficient, shooting 54% from the field. If he plays at this level or higher for the remainder of the season and in the tournament, Cousins should be a top 5 or 6 pick because any team could benefit from a big body and a sure rebounder every night.
Down Year?
This year's All Star game may be a little less star powered than usual; In the past two weeks Chris Paul and Brandon Roy have both had to drop out of the big game this Sunday due to injury. Now on ESPN it's being reported that Kobe may not be able to play in this weekend's All Star game because of his recently injured ankle. Personally, I have no idea who I would want to see replace Kobe in the game. Chris Kaman and Chauncey Billups have been named to replace B-Roy and CP3. The only player I can think of to replace Kobe is teammate Andrew Bynum, but unfortunately he's also been beat up lately. I'm just hoping this year won't be a disappointing one come this weekend. The way it's looking right now, I'm much more interested in Friday's and Saturday's events in All Star Weekend than the actual game on Sunday.

Late
I'm a few months late but a couple days ago I downloaded J Cole's " The Warm Up" mixtape and it was probably the best download I've ever made since Lupe's Fahrenheit 1/15 series. A friend of mine who had been in the studio with him told me about this J before he was featured on Jay Z's album but I never made an effort to download his material but now I'm glad I made that move. Some tracks that I like are "I Get Up" and "Dreams". I may be taking a leap, but I see this guy being one of the greatest to ever do it if he keeps moving in the right direction. On top of that, he's the first artist signed to Jay's RocNation so his window of opportunity is huge and his resources are endless. From now on I'll be closely following him. Can't wait for the album.
