Get with the Times
Ever since I got my Sega Genesis, I've been wondering why Sega hasn't made a game system since the Dreamcast. I think that they could be a instant competitor for both Playstation and Xbox. Who wouldn't like a new Sega? I'm sure that people would enjoy new and improved versions of Sonic, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter and Virtua Cop. I know I would. They should consider it.

Change of Scenery
Earlier today at 3 p.m was the trade deadline in the NBA. As it happens every year, many players were traded at the last minute for a host of reasons. Here are my favorite acquisitions:
1. The Bulls trade Andres Nocioni and Drew Gooden to the Kings for John Salmons and Brad Miller. This gives the Bulls a much needed skilled big man and a versatile scorer on the wing. The Kings get a tough gritty 3 man in Nocioni and a productive low post scorer and rebounder in Gooden. The Bulls should be great next season.
2. The Magic acquire point guard Rafer Alston a.k.a "Skip to my Lou" from the Rockets in a 3-way trade. This will put the Magic back where they need to be in the East; all-star point guard Jameer Nelson is likely out for the season. With Alston, the Magic also get a true leader and a pass first point guard. This may put them back in contention to win the East. Only time will tell.
3. The Knicks acquire Chris Wilcox and Larry Hughes. Hughes gives them a versatile scorer and Wilcox gives them the athletic big man that they so desperately need. Should work out good for them.
Random Thought of the Day
For those who don't know what this is, it's a Liger; a mixture of a female tiger and a male lion. This animal of course doesn't live in the wild because lions and tigers don't live in the same habitat. The scary thing is that this animal's adult size can reach up to 12 feet and 900 pounds! I always wondered if it was one day released in the wild would it completely annihilate everything in it's path or would it be too slow and big to catch anything...

Smart Decision?
Earlier today the New Orleans Hornets dealt their starting center Tyson Chandler to the Oklahoma City Thunder for forwards Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith. In many ways this trade could be good or bad. New Orleans gets a veteran forward in Joe Smith who can consistently rebound and hit mid range jump shots. They also get Wilcox who is very athletic and is much stronger than Chandler although he is not as long as Chandler and won't contest as many shots. The Hornets also lose their pick and roll offense that always leads to alley oops to Chandler. The Thunder on the other hand gained a lot. Chandler adds another young, athletic player and with the Thunder playing better, this gives a positive outlook on their future. Only time will tell who won this trade...

Conspiracy????????
Tonight in the NBA all-star game, The Shaq and Kobe led Western Conference defeated the East, 146-119. Thankfully, this all-star game turned out to be actually competitive for most of the game, opposed to the usual turnover and slam dunk fest that it usually is. At game's end, both Kobe and Shaq were named MVP. It almost seems as though this was planned all along. All week, it has been mentioned how the two would be reunited in the all-star game and "coincidentally " both were awarded the MVP award. Smells like a scam to me...

Crack Kills
Just as i was wondering what happened to DMX, somebody at my school showed me a youtube video of him going off. The video is apparently him talking about saving JA Rule's life, and it's hilarious! Watch the first three minutes. Here it is...
Star Studded Weekend
Tonight is the start of NBA all-star weekend. This should be good entertainment as it is every year. Tonight will be the celebrity game which is probably the worst event of all. The Rookie-Sophomore game is also tonight at 9. I take the rookies by at least 15. The sophomores have no answer for Beasley, Rose or Mayo. Tomorrow night will be the 3-point shootout and the slam dunk contest. Dwight Howard and Nate Robinson will go for their second dunk titles. The grand finale will be Sunday night, the actual all star game. Don't expect any defense whatsoever.

True Snub
Tonight, Deron Williams and the Utah Jazz defeated the Lakers 112-109. More importantly, Williams posted his fifth straight 30-point game and the Jazz are playing great. How is this guy not a allstar? Without him the Jazz would be terrible. If you don't wanna make the argument that he could be the best point guard in the league then he is definitely runner up to Chris Paul.
Ahead of Their Time
I've been learning a lot about Egyptian culture and civilization in History this semester. It's so interesting to me how a group of people could be so ahead of everyone else in the world. I know that one could make that case for America at one point but ancient Egypt was centuries ahead of it's time. These people invented mummification, they built huge pyramids with much less sophisticated tools than the ones that exist today and they purposely recorded everything they did and believed so that we could learn from them. It's almost a little scary. This is still the number one place on my list that I wanna visit.
